Guiding Principles

Student-Centered, Thoughtful Approach

Our approach is designed to bring clarity and confidence to the college planning process through thoughtful, personalized guidance. Each decision is made with the student’s goals and best interests at the center.

Perspective and Professional Judgment

We bring perspective, experience, and professional judgment to every engagement, guided by a shared commitment to doing what is right for students and families.

Confidentiality and Trust

Confidentiality is fundamental to our work. All information shared with us is treated with care, discretion, and respect.

Context-Driven Application Strategy

We apply a thoughtful, context-driven application strategy aligned with each student’s goals and family priorities.

Thoughtful, Well-Matched Outcomes

We measure success by the quality of outcomes and the confidence students have in the choices they make.

Independent Thinking and Authentic Voice

We work with students during an important period of growth, encouraging them to think independently, communicate clearly, and develop a voice that reflects who they are, not what they think admissions committees want to hear.

She founded Atlas after a career spanning film, television, and business, including work within one of the world’s largest global media organizations. Laura approaches the college application process as an integrated strategy, considering how academics, extracurricular engagement, recommendations, and essays work together within the broader admissions context. She brings a human-centered, narrative-informed approach to application essays, helping students articulate their experiences with clarity, authenticity, and purpose.
